Your Inner Music is Playing for a Reason: This is What Happens When You Press Mute

Everybody was born with the gift of intuition, an inner flame, or an internal GPS system.  Sometimes it comes in as chills, or heat, or genuine enthusiasm. But other times it’s subtle and easily missed.  The modern world is noisy as ever and the louder you allow it to become, the easier it is to miss the information “all knowing” is trying to hand to you.

I’ve heard several times from many different teachers; “Once the internal world is louder than the external world, you’ve mastered your life.”  Once you learn to listen to the music of your internal gps for guidance, rather than the opinions from all of the people who are near, you will quit driving in circles and begin living on purpose and in alignment.

A common pattern I’ve noticed with some of my clients is worrying about the opinions of the people closest to them. They want to start a new business or change careers but they intuitively know that it will fluster the feathers of their parents, siblings, or friends. Have you ever felt like this before?  They’re wanting to move to a new city, but don’t want to leave anybody behind.  Their inner flame is calling for a change, but they are allowing the outer world to stop them from pursing the music. Fear is stopping them from sharing their music with the world.

Unfortunately we have two battles to choose.  If you submit to the outer world, you’re creating chaos in your inner world.  If you submit to your inner GPS, there will be resistance on the outside and at times inside.

Anxiety, a stint of depression, overthinking, and feeling unfulfilled describes the moments of my life that I hold back. Can you relate to any of these? I realized it wasn’t about suppressing these undesired mental states, but examining why I was feeling a certain way in the first place. My internal GPS is speaking to me and giving guidance through emotion. Your internal GPS is doing the same thing in this very moment.

Think about the question “How can I impact the world to the highest degree possible?” What skills, resources, or knowledge can you transmute to actions that impact others in a profound way? I’ve been asking similar questions to myself for many years and overtime I’ve realized the answer: follow my instincts and create from that space. Sometimes we overthink what is right in front of us.

In the end, you will help far more people in this short life by following the spark of the universe that is abundantly giving you energy to co-create.
